Top 5 UK Attractions Kids Can Enjoy

Ah, summer holidays. Six weeks of careless fun and freedom, with no early morning get ups, no homework and no Monday mornings… unless of course you’re a parent faced with the prospect of keeping little balls of energy entertained all day long for a month and a half.

The Great British summer really spoils us for choice when it comes to days out and things to do. From theme parks to zoos and safaris, you might find six weeks isn’t really enough time to see it all! If you’re struggling to decide where to go, here’s our pick of top attractions…

Harry Potter Experience

The magical world of Harry Potter is loved by both children and adults alike. The Harry Potter Experience is an incredible studio tour, taking you and your little Wizards behind the scenes to see how the films were made. Take the time to explore some sets, get pictures in the Weasley’s flying car and enjoy some expert tuition in the art of wand craft. It is a truly spectacular experience that your children will remember long after the back to school blues set in in September.

Gulliver’s Kingdom

Step into the enchanted world of Gulliver’s Kingdom, which is packed with exciting rides and gigantic adventures. Set in rural Derbyshire, the views across the Peak District are unrivalled. This magical kingdom has plenty to offer for children aged two and up.

Longleat Safari Park

This is the largest safari drive through in the UK. As well as your chance to see the Serengeti in all its glory in rural Wiltshire, there’s also hundreds of other things to see and do. Main square provides children the opportunity to get up close and personal with a selection of animals and there are plenty of other activities that will entertain them for hours – not to mention the chance to see lions, tigers, giraffes, monkeys and elephants close up and in person. If want something a little more adult orientated the main house and gardens will provide a relaxing escape.

National Space Centre

With British astronaut, Tim Peake hitting the headlines there hasn’t been as much of a buzz about space travel in years. At The National Space Centre your children will have the chance to experience what it is like to blast off. There is also a huge array of space memorabilia to explore. The NSA is also home to the largest planetarium in the UK, where you can sit back and marvel at the stars.

Legoland

Are you children too young for Alton Towers but too old for Gulliver’s land? Don’t panic, Legoland is the perfect compromise. With exciting rides and Lego themed experiences, it makes for a fun day out for all the family. There’s a driving school, fire academy and castaway camp to keep the slightly older children happy too. Don’t miss Brickville, entirely dedicated to Lego’s younger incarnation Duplo.

Will you be taking your children on any of these fantastic days out? Share your favourite days out with us on our social media pages.
